REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS & NATIONAL BCS CHAMPIONSHIPS
BCS operates a regional structure whose responsibility it is to organise tournaments for member colleges. Each region will organise a regional qualifier in each of the sports played at the National Championships, added to which the regions will organise other tournaments if there is enough regional demand.
The National Championships take place once a year in March/April and are one of the biggest annual multi-sport events in the UK. Bigger than the UK School Games, each year more than 2500 students and staff from all over the UK meet up for sporting competitions in 15 different sports. The introduction of teams from Scotland and a football tournament for students with learning difficulties have added to the event, reaching across all areas of college life.
